LMFAO Half Time bud light ad

Someday I hope to throw a giant inflatable zebra into a mosh pit.
Though I cannot hope to look anywhere near as cool as Redfoo does while doing it.

As I've mentioned a few times before on this blog* I think LMFAO are awesome, their songs are catchy their videos are funny, their concerts have a giant crowd surfing inflatable zebra and they just seem like fun dudes.

So any ad which features there music is okay in my book, especially when it involves hamsters dancing to it.

Needless to say I was pretty excited they got to do a Bud Light Super Bowl ad:




The ad is pretty inconsequential but was funny. I would have preferred to see them develop it into a series of ads, where LMFAO preforms at the bar and slowly wins over the patrons, like the awesome cowboy bar scene in blue brothers. ("What Kind a music do you guys have play in here normally?" "We have both kinds. ...Country & Western." )

 I'm especially glad the cardboard robot got to be in it. That dude is the best robot since B-9, the robot from "Lost in Space".

The two best things in visual music of the year.

I really love the Kia Soul ad which has their anamorphic hamster mascots dance to party rock anthem.

Char over at Because A Fire  first made me aware of this ad a few weeks ago. and if you have read this blog before, or listened to the Hour of Thunder Podcast you may be aware that I:
1. Love cars
2. have loved Kia since their ridiculous almost anarchic early 90's ads
3. Think the Kia soul is finally a car from Kia as cool as their ads.
4. Own hamsters because someone abandon them over night in the mailroom of my old apartment. (My friend Allison coined the term "Dumpster Hamsters" after the dumpster baby episode of Always Sunny.*
5. Think LMFAO is an awesome bad with music videos that are somehow even more fun than their music.

This video somehow combines everything in the above list into one minute of pure awesome:



File this one under "commercials which where clearly written to market a product specifically at me."




The other best thing to happen this year involving music being played over video footage, was They Might Be Giants music video for "Can't Keep Johnny Down" which was 3 minutes of Rip Torn bear knuckle boxing:

I know I am about a year and a half behind on this, but LMFAO, are a pretty fucking awesome band. The 10 minute music video for "Yes" makes me very happy. Watch this right now, if you haven't: (sorry about the commercial in front of it. LMFAO's just trying to feed their robot families*)



The way RedFoo dances in this, and particularly the way he  throws his curling broom after his verse, makes me so damn happy.

I don't think I mentioned this yet: THIS GODDAMNED MUSIC VIDEO IS ABOUT CURLING.

This proves my theory:

CURLING IS AWESOME.
